is an RIC (Receiver-In-Canal) hearing aid. Its housing accommodates the latest in hearing technology, while at the same time providing the ultimate in user comfort, discretion and style.
Passion440 is the world’s only RIC model to offer Zen - a sound program, providing a choice of soothing tones and chime, as well as SmartSpeak – a signalling mechanism that verbally informs users of various hearing aid functions.
The RIC sound features
RIC technology enables a more complete frequency palette from which the user can achieve a unique sound picture.
10 kHz bandwidth
The unique design of the Passion440 RIC module results in a frequency response that extends to
10 kHz – even at maximum output. The net effect is that the 10 kHz bandwidth is a reality at all input levels.
Stable Sound Delivery™
Stable Sound Delivery™ is a unique advantage of Passion440 and provides a truly closed instant fit solution.
Other benefits include minimised feedback and increased comfort, as well as smooth frequency response in comparison to conventional BTE hearing aids.
Audibility Extender
The unique Audibility Extender listening program can help to extend the audibility range into high frequencies. This feature is helpful to users with ski-slope hearing loss who may miss out on these sounds.
TruSound compression
The TruSound compression system manages swift changes in the compression attack and release times in changing listening environments, while allowing longer release times in stable listening situations. This enhances clarity regardless of the input level, enabling better hearing.
Mind 440
At the centre of mind440 is a powerful and more efficient signal processing platform – Dual ISP. Dual ISP is a further development of our ISP technology, which now includes a layer for added awareness in challenging listening situations.
Central to Widex thinking is varied gain for varied input levels. To this end, with our TruSound™ compression system and the ClearBand receiver, we aim to ensure full audibility and unencumbered speech intelligibility.
Mind440 offers a dedicated tone program. The unique Zen, a revolutionary harmonic sound program, provides a choice of melodic tones and chimes.
Improved technological platform
Widex ISP technology continuously controls and coordinates all functions in the hearing aid automatically in response to changes in the user’s listening environment. With Dual ISP, it is no longer simply a question of analysing and processing sound individually according to the individual hearing loss. It is now possible to combine features with a listening focus and an awareness focus.
Dual ISP consists of two layers
The listening layer, combining high definition sound analysis and sound processing with system optimisation.
The awareness layer, including the fractal generator and the SmartSpeak signalling mechanism. This function informs users of various hearing aid functions such as low battery power and program mode.
Seamless integration
Coordinating both these layers is the Dynamic Integrator, the core of the Dual ISP platform. The Dynamic Integrator stores audiological and program data, as well as user profiles such as needs and preferences.
When using the Compass fitting software, all individual tailoring of the fitting parameters is integrated in the Dual ISP platform through the Dynamic Integrator.
